Editorial Policy

1 – Purpose and Scope

This Editorial Policy outlines the standards and guidelines governing all content published on the Young, Black & Global (“YBG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website, social platforms, and affiliated digital media channels. Our goal is to ensure that all YBG content—editorial, branded, or community-generated—reflects the integrity, values, and voice of the Young, Black & Global movement: Move. Think. Be. This policy applies to YBG staff, contractors, contributors, guest writers, community contributors, collaborators, brand partners, and sponsored content producers

2 – Editorial Mission and Principles

We aim to inspire, inform, and empower global Black youth with authentic stories and ideas rooted in culture, innovation, identity, and growth. Principles: Accuracy, Representation, Respect, Transparency, Accountability.

3 – Content Creation and Review Process

All content (articles, videos, interviews, photography, social posts) is reviewed for clarity, factual accuracy, legal/ethical compliance, and alignment with YBG values. Process: submission → editorial review → legal/ethical check (as needed) → final approval. YBG may edit, modify, or decline any submission.

4 – Community and User-Generated Content

Contributors warrant they own/hold rights to submitted materials and grant YBG a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, edit, and distribute. Submissions may be edited for clarity/formatting. We prohibit hate speech, harassment, discrimination, false/misleading information, obscene/defamatory content, and unauthorized copyrighted material.

5 – Corrections and Updates

We correct material errors promptly and note significant corrections/retractions where appropriate. Send requests to help@youngblackGlobal.com with details and supporting sources

6 – Independence and Objectivity

YBG maintains editorial independence from advertisers/sponsors. Sponsored content, affiliate links, or brand collaborations are clearly disclosed. Partnerships do not influence editorial decisions.

7 – Inclusion and Ethical Standards

We avoid cultural appropriation, stereotyping/tokenism, and exploitation of sensitive subjects. We amplify diverse voices across the global Black community.

8 – Visual and Multimedia Standards

Visuals must accurately represent subjects, respect licensing/rights, align with brand guidelines, and include credits where applicable. Stock or AI-generated imagery is used ethically and disclosed when relevant.

9 – Legal Compliance and Intellectual Property

All YBG content complies with applicable copyright, privacy, and defamation laws. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited. Third-party materials are used only with license/permission. YBG isn’t responsible for external sites.

10 – Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The latest version will display a revised Effective Date.
